TUITION POLICY        
$30 Annual Registration Fee is required for enrollment

All tuitions are due on or before the first day of class

 
Fall Semester tuition must be paid in full before the first class: September 8, 2008
Spring Semester tuition must be paid in full before the first class: January 26, 2009
         
>  A late fee will be charged for delinquent payment. 
>  Requests for special payment arrangements should be addressed to Valerie Pullman, General Manager. 
>  There are no refunds for missed classes, except in the case of prolonged illness or injury. 
>  5% discount for 2 in same family;  10% discount for 3 in same family .
 
 
 
 
 
         
FINANCIAL AID        
A limited number of tuition subsidies are awarded on the basis of financial need and demonstrated dedication.  Applications are available from the CDS Office.
         
         
DRESS CODE        
Good grooming is an essential part of the approach to the study of dance.  Sweat pants, loose tops and skirts are not allowed for ballet or pre-ballet.  
         
Hair must be neatly pulled back off the face and secured.  For girls,  a ballet bun is preferred.  Pony tails are acceptable only in jazz and modern classes.  
         
Required Ballet Class Uniform for Girls:  Mirella brand tank style leotard for all ballet and pre-ballet levels

White T shirt, black shorts or tights, white socks, white ballet slippers with elastics over instep.
         
Required Modern Dance Uniform for Girls and Boys:
Bare feet.  Any color/style leotard with black footless tights for girls; T shirt, black tights or jazz pants for boys.
         
Required Jazz Class Uniform for Girls and Boys:
Black jazz pants and black jazz shoes.  For girls, any color tank style leotard; for boys, white t shirt.
         
Required Tap Class Uniform for Girls and Boys:
Tap shoes and socks. Tap dress or leotard and skirt for girls. T shirts and jazz pants or shorts for boys.

REGULATIONS        
Connecticut Dance School students are expected to conduct themselves in a disciplined, respectful and responsible manner at all times. 

Students must adhere to the school’s policies for in-class etiquette and dress code.  Extreme cases of misbehavior may result in suspension

or dismissal.  Parents must take responsibility for their child’s behavior before and after class periods.

         
ATTENDANCE AND LATENESS
Students who arrive late for class may gain admission only with the permission of the teacher.  A note or a call from parents is

required for lateness or absence.  Repeated absences may result in a recommendation to change the student’s class level.

         
MAKE-UP CLASS POLICY
All missed classes may and should be made up within the same semester.  Students may make-up in the same level class for which

they are enrolled or in a class one level down.

         
       
         

Summer Programs

Summerdance 2009: Ages 3 - 18
July 6 - 24, 2009

3 & 4 yr old Program:  Each 2 hr session includes age appropriate movement exploration, storytelling & crafts

(based on same themed weeks as the 5 - 8 year old program below)
9:30 - 11:30 am  Mon, Wed & Fri   Tuition: 
$96/week or $288 for all 3 weeks (snack included)

5 - 8 year old Program:   Tuition:  $160/week or $480 for all 3 weeks (snack included)
    Students may enroll for 1, 2, or 3 of the themed weeks.

    Dances and crafts will be based on the theme of the week.
              Monday - Friday, 9:30 am - 11:30 am.
              Week 1:  "Enchanted Castle"
              Week 2:  "Storybook Tales from Disney"
              Week 3:  "Carnival of Animals"

   Level A: students who have completed Ballet Level 1 or Ballet 2 or equivalent  Tuition - $185/week
         Students may enroll for 1, 2 or 3 weeks    Monday - Friday, 9:15 am - 11:30 am.
         Daily classes in ballet, a second class in modern dance, mime, jazz or choreography
 
   Level B: students who have completed Ballet Level 3 or Ballet 4 or equivalent  Tuition - $250/week
        Students may enroll for 1, 2 or 3 weeks    Monday - Friday, 9:30 am - 1:30 pm
        5 days per week with classes in ballet, pointe, modern dance, jazz, musical theatre, mime or choreography.

   Level C: students who have completed Ballet Level 5 or higher or equivalent   Tuition - $250/week
        Students may enroll for 1, 2 or 3 weeks    Monday - Friday, 9:30 am - 1:30 pm
        5 days per week, focusing on classical ballet technique and pointe.  


Adults may take ballet classes with Level C .
Dance cards may be used for payment.


Intensive Week: August 17-24, 2009   Tuition - $300
A 6-day program for advanced and advanced/intermediate students who have completed Ballet 6 or higher features daily ballet technique class followed by classical variations on pointe, Flamenco, partnering, modern dance, jazz, Pilates, yoga. The session will end with a master class.

Choreography Workshops: August 24 - September 5, 2009  Tuition - $300
By invitation to students who have completed Ballet level 4 or higher.

Students who participate in this 2-week (Monday through Saturday) workshop will take a ballet class followed by a class to learn new choreography for the coming season..
